Sweet flag is native to India, central Asia, southern Russia and Siberia. It was introduced to Europe and North America for medicinal purposes. Sweetflag is a type of water plant growing in or by lakes, ponds, rivers, marshes, swamps, and most wetlands in up to a foot of water. Sweet Flag is easily distinguished by the pleasant fragrance given off when the leaves are broken.

STRATIFICATION NEEDED - To stratify your Wild Calamus Seeds, place the wild seeds in the refrigerator in some moistened peat, sand or paper towel in a closed container or sealed plastic bag. Store seeds this way for 60-90 days. Keep moist/damp but not wet.
