The Brilliant Deep Red is one of the most amazing Wildflowers in Kentucky! They grow best in moist, rich soils in full sun to partial shade. After germination, seedlings will transplant quite easily. The plant will attract Bee's, hummingbirds, and butterflies. The leaves and flowers of Lobelia cardinalis are used as a classic herbal remedy to make tea and cold remedies.

STRATIFICATION NEEDED: Seeds germinate after a 60-90 day period of cold, moist stratification. Place the seeds in the refrigerator in moistened peat, sand or paper towel in a closed container or sealed plastic bag.
Note: Cold stratification is the process of subjecting organic seeds to both cold and moist conditions. Seed of many trees, shrubs and perennials require these conditions before germination will ensue.
