Oregon grape is a species of flowering plant in the family Berberidaceae, native to western North America. It is an evergreen shrub growing around 3 feet tall. Many believe this is a type of grape although the two plants are not related at all. The berries are not grapes with a distinct taste all of their own, very tart, but edible and can be sued for jams, syrups and jellies. They ripen from late June through August. The Organic Oregon Grape Plant can be easily recognized by the leaves which resemble the Holly Tree.
