Nature sometimes increases the odds of organic seeds germinating at just the right time by requiring multiple conditions be met. The first thing that most be done is a process called "scarification". Place the seeds between two pieces of medium grit sand paper and lightly rub the seeds, just enough to scratch the surface. Partridge Pea seeds will then need a 60 day period of cold stratification, Place the seeds in a plastic bag with damp peat moss in the refrigerator for 60-90 days. After this period you can sow your seeds directly on top of your growing medium covered with a white sheet or burlap to allow for sun penetration. Keep the seeds moist during this period as well as after they germinate into seedlings.
