When it comes to organic tinctures and herbal extracts, quality is essential. Although we appreciate the ancient folklore methods for organic Dandelion extract preparations (soaking the herbs in alcohol for long periods of time), as well as percolation methods, they can fall short of professional lab extractions. As shown in our video, our Dandelion tinctures are professionally prepared in a lab setting using the soxhlet extractor method.
Soxhlet extraction is a type of atmospheric liquid extraction, utilizing temperature and low pressures (ambient pressure), for the selected extract.
Soxhlet extraction is a professional, conventional technique, providing the highest recovery of valuable plant material.
Preferred by some, you can use the product directly from the dropper, or, if you find that to be a bit overwhelming (which many do) simply mix in with your coffee, teas, smoothies or water.
NOTE: Excessive squeezing of the dropper ball is not necessary. When the dropper is squeezed once, it will only pull up a 1ml serving into the glass dropper. That is how servings are measured. 1 Squeeze = 1ml
Dandelion Root Extract: 1-5 Ratio
Other Ingredients: Alcohol 35-40%, Water
No Fillers, Non GMO, Gluten Free
Average uses per ounce: 15-30
Important notes concerning tinctures - Tincture ratios can be confusing!
A 1-5 or 1-4 ratio is standard for mushrooms and herbs. There are times when lower menstruum to herb ratios can be beneficial, although many times it is counter productive, and unfortunately it is being used as a marketing tactic.
The standard 1-5 or 1-4 higher alcohol ratios have stood the test of time and are usually needed to properly extract the herb. The alcohol can only hold so much material before it is saturated. At the saturation point, you need more alcohol to continue pulling out the plant material . So in short, lower ratios will not always mean a superior product.
A little bit about the amazing Dandelion herb and it's many uses -
Foraged in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. No smog, no pollution and rich, nutrient filled soil provide the perfect environment for harvesting all natural, non GMO, wild herbs.
The use of Wild Crafted Dandelion Root dates back at least to the Tenth Century. Dandelion Herb was prized for its many culinary and herbal uses and is still harvested commercially in some countries.
Dandelions are native to Eurasia and North America and can be found growing in open fields, gardens, disturbed soils and waste areas. The plant produces a small yellow flower that turns to a perfect circle of very light, grey seed. A favorite to pick and blow in the wind!
The flowers and leaves are edible and can be used in salads, flowers fried into fritters, or our favorite, the flowers make the perfect vegetable in soups. The texture is perfect!
Many recipes can be found online both for Culinary and herbal uses.
Occult, Witchcraft and Magic folklore uses - Used in various herbal magic spells including Hoodoo, Voodoo, Wicca and Witchcraft. Used in love mixtures, mojo bags, amulets, jars and charms. A commonly used organic herb for rituals, ceremonies and magick spells among alternative religious practices.
