Ceremonial Mullein Candles and torches were lit after dark and paraded through villages to ward off evil and bad energy. Hung in barns and stables it protected the animals against the evil works of witches and demons and against thunder and lightening. In ritual, the use of the candles and larger Mullein Torches added fierce energy and power to the work at hand.

These Mullein stalks have been cut to around 4 inches and are about 1/4 to 3/8 in round. You will receive dry, aged Mullein Stalks for Candle making. They are mostly straight with a few having curvy irregular shapes which will certainly add character to your candle! They make the perfect candle base/wic underneath your wax with a huge flame that can reach 2-4 inches. Larger stalks are used to make small torches so be aware of the height of your flame! This is a classic method of candle making used by the home craft maker and in occult type rituals, shaman ceremonies and witchcraft. Depending on the type of material you use, you should not need wic and the candle should burn from 45 minutes to an hour if you use the correct portion and type of wax.
