Violet Leaf Tincture - Appalachian Mountains Wild Harvest

Violet Leaf Tincture,

 Viola sororia,

When it comes to tinctures, quality is essential. Although we appreciate the ancient folklore methods for organic Violet Leaf extract preparations (soaking the herbs in alcohol for long periods of time), as well as percolation methods, they can fall short of professional lab extractions. Our Violet Leaf tinctures are professionally prepared in a lab setting using the soxhlet extractor method.
Soxhlet extraction is a type of atmospheric liquid extraction, utilizing temperature and low pressures (ambient pressure), for the selected extract.
Soxhlet extraction is a professional, conventional technique, providing the highest recovery of valuable plant material.

Our Violet extracts are double extracted with alcohol and water to obtain all of the useful plant material.

Preferred by some, you can use the product directly from the dropper,
or, if you find that to be a bit overwhelming (which many do)
simply mix in with your coffee, teas, smoothies or water.
NOTE: Excessive squeezing of the dropper ball is not necessary. When the dropper is squeezed once, it will only pull up a 1ml serving into the glass dropper. That is how servings are measured. 1 Squeeze = 1ml

Violet Leaf Extract: 1-5 Ratio
Other Ingredients: Alcohol 30-35%, Water

No Fillers, Non GMO, Gluten Free

Average uses per ounce: 15-30

Important notes concerning Violet tinctures - Tincture ratios can be confusing!
A 1-5 ratio is standard for mushrooms and herbs. There are times when lower menstruum to herb ratios can be beneficial, although many times it is counter productive, and unfortunately it is being used as a marketing tactic. The standard 1-5 or 1-4 higher alcohol ratios have stood the test of time and are usually needed to properly extract the herb. The alcohol can only hold so much material before it is saturated. At the saturation point, you need more alcohol to continue pulling out the plant material . So in short, lower ratios will not always mean a superior product.

A little bit about the amazing Violet herb -

The Viola genus contains over 500 species mostly found in the temperate climates of the world. Most of them can be used as herbs or culinary herbs. The common blue violet is native to most of central and eastern North America. Along with the dandelions, chickweed and ground Ivy, Violets are one of our first spring flowers in the Eastern United States.

The Organic Violet is not particular on where it grows, loving waste areas, fields, lawns, and even cracks in sidewalks. It is considered a weed to those who have no knowledge of this amazing plant. Blue Violets are an excellent food, a natural herb and a beautiful flower to make us smile!

As a culinary herb, Violet leaves are commonly used for violet tea (violet leaf tea is easy to make), as well as in salads, soups, pesto and make an excellent garnish brightening up any dish! Try grounding your Violet leaves for an excellent and unique, mild spice!

Occult, Witchcraft, magic herbs and folklore uses - Associated with love and Spirituality. Used in various herbal magic spells. Used in love mixtures, mojo bags, amulets, jars and charms. A commonly used organic herb for rituals, ceremonies and magick spells among alternative religious practices.
