 Native to the Eastern U.S, Trillium, also known as Bethroot, is a herbaceous perennial growing from a short rhizome, producing one single, beautiful white flower atop three leaves. Trillium especially likes the Limestone regions in the Appalachian Mountains and flowers early spring.

Trillium can be used as a tea, tincture or salve for a variety of conditions. Studies of The Trillium root have found it to be antiseptic, antispasmodic, diuretic, emmenagogue, and ophthalmic. It has been a popular garden plant for ornamental purposes as well as being a popular herb. The leaves of the plant are edible as well and can be used as a survival food.
