Wild Lettuce is also known as bitter lettuce and opium lettuce. Native to North America Wild Lettuce contains a number of species producing a white Milky Latex that is used by herbalists around the world. A common misperception is that the leaves contain the majority of the latex. This is 100% wrong. Anyone who has ever harvested the wild lettuce plant has seen this for themselves. See my pictures here in this ad. They show the exact opposite, and this is always true and applies to ALL species of Wild Lettuce. The majority of the Herbal Latex is extracted from the plant stalk and stems. The dried Wild Lettuce leaves also contain the latex but to a lesser degree. If your just using the leaves the product is inferior to correctly harvested wild lettuce. Full Spectrum Wild Lettuce contains a number of compounds and phytochemicals, most interestingly, lactucarium which seems to have been used for a wide variety of applications, by many cultures for thousands of years.
