Wood Betony Herb is a herbaceous perennial plant that grows to around 12 inches with beautiful purple flowers in late summer.
The Plant is Native to most of Europe, western Asia and North Africa. It is cultivated by many herbalists throughout the world and is fairly easy to grow. The Greeks, Romans, and European cultures valued Wood Betony for its Antioxidant, astringent, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Tannins and glycosides are presumed to be the active components of betony. Other compounds found in the plant include betulinic acid, D-camphor, delphinidin, hyperoside, manganese, oleanolic acid, rosmarininc acid, rutin, ursolic acid, and stachydrine
