Angelica sinensis, is commonly known as dong quai, Empress of herbs, Chinese angelica or "female ginseng" and is an herb from the family Apiaceae, native to China. The dried roots are widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for women's health. Dong Quai is a trusted Chinese herb in many cultures.

Chinese herbalists use dong quai in combination with many other medicinal herbs, including astragalus, mugwort, bai shao, chai hu and cinnamon bark. American Herbalists commonly mix with Black Cohosh, Blue Cohosh, Chaste Berries and Flax Seeds.
