The tulip poplar tree is not really a poplar tree at all, but is actually a member of the Magnolia family. Although it is widely accepted as such, the name can be somewhat misleading. ( This is why scientific names are so important).

Like so many plants and trees, the herbal uses of Poplar Bark have fell by the wayside with only the herbal community being made aware of the use.
